The InnerSource Foundation

We seek to receive knowledge from within.

We embrace the notion that all human beings possess built-in knowledge and power that cannot be readily observed by the conscious mind. This principle has been taught and demonstrated by teachers and masters for thousands of years. We have seen that, by turning inward, every person learns from the deep inner sources of knowledge and power. This is not Belief. Rather, it is a pathway of learning.

The Inner Source that we explore consists largely of the human spirit. The knowledge that is gained through inner development we call spirituality. We know that spiritual development is not dependent upon religious beliefs. To the contrary, true spiritual development is often impeded or prevented by religious belief and ritual. Instead, true spiritual learning comes from the Inner Source. Accordingly, we respect and learn from teachings of the great masters such as Jesus, Buddha and others. But, we try to separate their wisdom from the lore that has been invented by many of their followers.

From our own experience and that of many others, we know that inner development is a way of discovering one's own true inner values. We have seen that attempts by political, educational, and religious institutions to teach values or impose values upon individuals is only partly successful. Worse yet, imposed values are transitory and usually break down during difficult or perilous times. Discovered values are intrinsic, built-in, and permanent. Intrinsic values are powerful and help us transcend adversity and peril.
